I have a Breitling Aerospace that was purchased in 2002. I have replaced the battery many times, but my question is: How long will the watch continue to function once the display begins flashing? I have all LED displays/sounds off to . As you probably know, the Aerospace has a function that announces the time in beeps every time you push in the crown. Anyways, I find I'm often bumping it in several times a day just with normal wear and it starts to beep annoyingly. Is there any way to disable this function or take out the watch's beep entirely? The Aerospace is my usual work watch, so a lot more of a daily than my others, but I definitely wear it to weddings and formal events as well. My only gripe with the aerospace is that the titanium is very soft and scratches easily. It's powered by Breitling's Caliber 79, which they refer to as "SuperQuartz": an ETA-based thermocompensated multifunction movement, that is chronometer certified and specc'ed to run at better than 15 seconds a year accuracy.
I've serviced mine on average every 3 years, and I should be getting 5 out of a service (it's a quartz, so the battery has to be replaced. I send it in to Breitling for that to guarantee watertightness). On the other hand, I have friends with Breitlings who hardly ever send them in . Looking at the Breitling Aerospace strapped to my wrist, I do realise the aesthetics are quite peculiar. I never liked those rider tabs bezels from the brand. I find them horrible, especially on two tone models. Thankfully on this one they are quite discreet.
